The Bubble Room Restaurant bursts into St. Augustine

After the Bubble Room Restaurant opened it's 2nd location in St. Augustine, FL they contacted us to announce their popping presence in our community.

We've since had the pleasure of tasting their delicious food and outrageously yummy, award-winning desserts in a truly unique and fun atmosphere.

To make an impact we purchased the front cover of the August issue of the St. Augustine Mint Magazine.  This cover highlighted their flare and showcased them being a family friendly restaurant filled with memorabilia from the 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s and their eclectic menu. We also bought a full page ad inside the magazine to advertise an offer too good to pass up!

The Bubble Room Restaurant loved the ad and most importantly, it got results! Their ad created a buzz and brought in a lot of new customers who are sure to share their experience with other locals and tourists.

Stop in to The Bubble Room Restaurant the next time you're in St. Augustine, and tell them Media Design sent you!

Black Widow Tanning Marks the Spot

Media Design created a dynamic identity for a trendy, new tanning salon opening in Orlando...

Who is this Black Widow? All arrows point right at her. An identifiable and very sexy approach. This logo incorporates the hourglass shape found on the black widow spider’s under-belly. The gradient and colors represent a sunset for the all day tan look and into the night attitude (or a sunrise for those that have been having fun all through the night). Who doesn’t want to be that “Black Widow”… and for your male clients, who can’t see themselves with her.

Featured Project: Be Safe or Stay Home.

For some common sense safety to live by, that we can all use, download this little "Go Safe" booklet.

Just wrapping up this really fun project targeted to PRE-Teens ('cause, I don't believe there is any way a 9-12 year would want to be called a "tween"). We've had the chance to develop a cool/hip look that's not like any other safety material out there, yet. Posters, bookmarks and a 12 page activity book will be distributed throughout North Central Florida to reinforce great safety tips in a non-boring, non-preaching way.

This awesome safety campaign is promoted by your Community Traffic Safety Team of the Florida Department of Transportation, Florida SafeRoutes to School, and Safe Kids to help reduce the #1 cause of serious injury and death among our youth.

Life isn't boring and neither should design, especially when we're talking about life-saving safety rules... So you can live it up to the max!

Hello… Is Anyone Out there? - Radio Answers the Call

Advertising in a tough economy calls for smart
solutions. If you’ve never advertised on radio before, or haven’t done so in awhile, now is the time. More than 240 million people listen to the radio each week! Despite the internet and other networking media, the simplicity and convenience of radio is not lost on consumers. People listen to more radio than any other audio source. Radio influences purchasing decisions and the benefits are abundant.

Cost:

In most cases radio advertising will be less expensive than print or television advertising and can be placed in a time frame where it will have the most impact.

Tapping Into The “Community”:  Radio is an intimate form of advertising. Listeners’ habits make it a daily presence in their life and they develop strong relationships with their favorite stations, identifying with the music and bonding with DJs.

Hit Your Target:  No matter whether you advertise with a news talk or classic rock format, stations know the demographics of their audience. You can efficiently target the right consumer groups, at the right time.

An Everywhere Medium:  Radio advertisements reach people when they are at home, in their car, on the internet and even in public settings.

Promotions: A radio station can become your partner in success, allowing you to give away promotional items with your name and logo. Appearing live on-air and hosting remotes at your business to drive traffic are both options.

“What radio stations should I advertise on?” “What times should my ad play?” “What should my ads say?”

These are all valid questions and not all radio stations are created equal.  The station selected and times your ad plays are important to the effectiveness of your campaign. All station’s can say they’re #1, but is that with women 35-65 during Mon-Fri 6a-10a?  That won’t work if you’re a sports bar that targets men 18-35 and wants to build business on the weekends.

Media Design has the software and knowledge to help pick the best station(s) and daypart(s) for your business. We invest the time researching your objectives and target audience demographics to find the best way to get your message out. Best of all, there is no extra cost to you.  We make our money from commissions supplied by the station so you don’t pay any extra and, in most cases less, because of the great rates we are able to negotiate.

Call our radio guru, Lindsay Carpenter at 904-636-5131 ext 208 and tell her you’re ready to be heard!

Christmas in July!

Okay it's not quite yet July, but it's HOT and I need something refreshing to drink. Which made me think of our annual Recipes 4 the Road. We celebrated our 11th edition at the end of 2008 and look forward to our upcoming issue this fall.

This COOL booklet contains festive drinks (that don't need alcohol)! Since drinking and driving is REALLY BAD at any time of year, we thought we'd pass along this little reminder... Be safe, designate a driver if you plan on downing a few and have lots of fun this summer.

If you too are thirsty for something different, download this version of our Recipes 4 the Road. Maybe make up a batch of Starlight Mint Tea or Mojitos and take it into the office to share with co-workers (and your boss for some extra brownie points). And don't forget the kids! They'd love to help you make a S'mores Milk or Caribbean Punch for a sweet afternoon treat.

Success During a Down Economy

We're not here to tell you about the economy. You know how it's doing.

It's a common reaction to slash advertising spending at times like this. You may think reducing your marketing budget is better than layoffs, but unfortunately, cutting advertising can eventually lead to those layoffs as business continues to drop and prospects dwindle.

Sacrificing long-term marketing objectives because of short-term financial struggles is not the way to weather this storm. Those businesses who continue marketing during difficult times come out ahead of the pack when things turn around. Customers have short-term memories... out of sight, out of mind.

Some rock solid suggestions:

Promote yourself through the web. If you don't already have a website or could use a refresher, now is the time to make it happen. Drive traffic to your site with e-mail marketing, online advertising, blogs & social network advertising.

• Have a website that nobody knows exists? Search Engine Optimization (S.E.O.) is a must to improve your ranking on the main search engines. It's estimated that there are about 1.5 billion people using the internet.

• Direct Mail is an effective way to market to existing customers and to target potential buyers. Attractive postcards with a well-written message get a good response and are less expensive to mail than a letter.

• Now is a great time to add radio to your media mix. You can take advantage of some great rates and with many formats to choose from, you can deliver your message directly to your target audience.
